I bought this to make "grass" icing on some cupcakes. I RARELY bake or decorate desserts, I normally buys custom bakery cakes. I've been looking for ways to cut on expensive bday costs and figured I could probably handle this. I bought cute cupcake holders and then used this tool with buttercream frosting. TIP - In the stores you can buy ready to use frosting in the bags, and add food coloring or buy them colored. I found this to be easy and convenient, and taste better than my own homemade frosting, as I haven't quite mastered buttercream frosting. When using my homemade frosting I purchased icing bags on Amazon, which were easy to use and not complicated. The buttercream frosting was used in combination with Duncan Hines cake mix. I felt empowered with these few tools and the easy store bought frosting made it so easy that I am confident I can make MORE awesome cupcakes! In the pic ... I tried a grass edible print on amazon. This was also cool and easy to use, but didn't take as good and easy to use, and may come in handy if you have a particular design in mind.

Even though the tip meets the description, I give the tip 3 stars because it was not round upon arrival. The tip was shipped in a plastic bag inside a thin, bubble wrap envelope. The tip was very flat! If I hadn't needed the tip immediately, I would have returned it. It took some work, but I was able to get it round enough to fit on a coupler so I could use it with minimal icing leaking out. Frustrating because the cost was twice what I would pay at a store, and it arrived damaged. Better packaging is definitely needed.

**UPDATE** Tip works perfectly
Arrived in a bubble envelope bent. Its pretty strong metal so unable to bend back into shape unless I use tools. I will keep it and use it the way it is, the shape of the actual tip does not seem compromised so it will probably work fine. Have not tried it yet.

Used a few different styles of this brand of piping tip to decorate my daughter's birthday cake and it came out beautifully! I used a chocolate and vanilla buttercream frosting with a few star and drop flower piping tips. In the past I have had problems with cheap piping tips bending and putting out wonky designs, but I think because these were made from stainless steel I didn't have that problem at all.
